Matt Ginter had another good outing yesterday even though he was no decisioned and the Mets lost the game. Ginter has pitched so well that the Mets will not make any decision on Scott Erickson until after his next rehab start and then only because they are contractually obligated to do so. At that point Erickson is likely to be added to the rotation and the Mets will have to send someone down to the minors. It'll either be Ginter or Jae Seo. My guess would be that if Seo is anything less than perfect tonight and Ginter pitches well his next time out then Seo is going to go. In other words, Seo is probably pitching for his spot in the rotation tonight.
I was saddened to read in this morning's newspapers that long time Mets radio voice Bob Murphy is battling lung cancer. I grew up listening to Murphy call Mets games and have trouble listening to games on the radio without hearing his voice. Get well, Murph.
An MRI on Orber Moreno's ailing right shoulder showed no structural issues. Moreno was put on the DL the other day and Tyler Yates was recalled to take his place on the roster. Yates will work in relief.
I don't often comment about the Jose Reyes injury situation (why frustrate myself?) but thought you'd like to know that his back is feeling better and he's beginning to resume baseball activity. I'm going to stop talking about it now so that if (when?) things go wrong nobody can say I jinxed it.
