Today's Mets Rant

Not much going on in Mets land today. The Mets beat Atlanta last night on strong pitching from Al Leiter and a trio of relievers. Leiter also starred at the plate hitting a double down the alley in right center field. Shane Spencer knocked in 2 runs and is off to a nice start. I still think the Mets need at least one more solid outfielder but it's good to see that Spencer and Karim Garcia are hitting early in the season. Especially with Cliff Floyd on the DL with a strained quad and Mike Cameron nursing a tight hamstring.

Speaking of Floyd, I know it's still early in the season but when will it be safe to call this signing a bust? He had a pretty good year last year but only played 108 games due to injury. Now he's injured after only 20 at bats this year. I'm really rooting for him to get healthy and prove his worth but right now I'm a bit cynical and looking at a half empty glass (as opposed to a half full one).
