The Mets lost 6-4 in 12 innings last night. Sean Casey hit two two-run homers including the game winner. Though the Mets blew an opportunity to win this one I really can't say I'm surprised by the loss. You can't fall behind and come back to win all the time. Until they learn to take a lead early and protect it they will be nothing more than the .500 team they currently are.
The Mets will recall catcher Tom Wilson before today's game. That should give them the flexibility to use both Mike Piazza and Jason Phillips at the same time. With a weekend series against the Yankees coming up it means that there will be no problem using Pizza at DH while Phillips catches. I expect to see Todd Zeile and Eric Valent playing at first base.
