Dave's Mostly Mets Blog

Notes

  • The Mets lost 6-4 in 12 innings last night. Sean Casey hit two two-run homers including the game winner. Though the Mets blew an opportunity to win this one I really can't say I'm surprised by the loss. You can't fall behind and come back to win all the time. Until they learn to take a lead early and protect it they will be nothing more than the .500 team they currently are.

  • The Mets will recall catcher Tom Wilson before today's game. That should give them the flexibility to use both Mike Piazza and Jason Phillips at the same time. With a weekend series against the Yankees coming up it means that there will be no problem using Pizza at DH while Phillips catches. I expect to see Todd Zeile and Eric Valent playing at first base.
