Piazza had been slumping but went 2 for 3 last night and hit a ball to the warning track. Maybe facing a last place team was exactly what he needed to get his swing and confidence back.
Al Leiter takes his 0.00 season ERA to the mound tonight. Leiter hasn't allowed a run in 24 1/3 innings (going back to last September). One more scoreless inning will tie his career high for consecutive shutout innings.
